Sinusitis and Sleepovers

Wow! It has been a long time since our last post. You will have to excuse us, as we have been super busy lately. Here is an update of what has been going on.

On May 1, Rylan went to his new pediatrician at Watson's Clinic for his 9 month check-up. He was 28 1/2 inches long (in the 60th percentile), and 18 lbs 11 oz (20th percentile). Although his weight is still a little low, we were ecstatic to see that he went from the 12th percentile to the 20th!! Grow baby, grow!

Two weeks later we were back at the office for our first real "sick" visit. :( Rylan had been coughing with a stuffy nose for about a week, but he never ran a fever or acted like he was sick. That Sunday night Rylan was not acting like himself. He still didn't have a fever, but he was so miserable that we decided to take him first thing that Monday.

We LOVE our new Dr. She was so sweet and caring. We definitely feel like Watson Clinic is the place for Ry! Dr. P diagnosed Rylan with "Sinusitis with wheezing". She prescribed him an antibiotic (NOT a penicillin due to my nervousness), and a nebulizer. She wanted Rylan to have breathing treatments. I was leery about how well Rylan would do with them. His friend Kane did not like them all that much, and I was worried Rylan wouldn't either. To my, and the nursing staff at the office's, surprise, he did very well. He even enjoyed playing with the tube.

Now not every treatment goes this smooth. Sometimes he gets bored or distracted and it takes the two of us holding him down the whole time.

On May 18th, our Heath spent the night for the first time! Rylan had SO much fun, that one night turned into two nights!

Those silly boys had so much fun playing! Then, as boys often do, they crashed!!

We had SO much fun with our Heath! We can't wait to do it again!

Happy Memorial Day, from our family to yours. We are so thankful for the servicemen/women who defend our country and sacrifice so much for our freedom. May God bless you and your families.
