Oh So Talented!

You may have seen how talented Rylan is on this post. Well he has stepped up his game in a major way. No longer does he need the hand of an adult to make noises. He has figured out how to do it himself! Don't be fooled by the length of this video...he can do this for an incredibly long amount of time (as long as he has a captive audience). It is so funny how he now does things in search of applause or attention. I think we have a ham on our hands!
Have a blessed day!

Eggs, Empty Tombs, and Love

What an amazing Easter Sunday we had today! Hunting eggs, praising God, and of course, eating good food!

We started off the day hunting eggs with Heath before church. Rylan got to hunt eggs in style with his shirt from Mrs. Bonny. He had so much fun finding the eggs! They were just the perfect size for him to hold, and shake, and drop...

After egg hunting and breakfast, it was time for church. Rylan, after a long and hard fight, slept through most of the service. Praise and worship takes on a whole new meaning for me while I hold Rylan. Thinking of the sacrifice God made for us when he allowed his own Son to die for our sins seems to mean so much more when I look at Rylan's sweet face. I have a better, but not complete, understanding of the magnitude of his sacrifice. I am thankful that God loves us so much, and grateful that he rose again on that third day. Pastor D said today "Grace is free, but it wasn't cheap." I understand these words so much more since having Rylan. Since feeling love this strong. What an awesome God we serve!

After church we went to lunch and egg hunt with the Smiths.

We had such a blessed Easter. We can't wait to celebrate Easter with Gigi on Tuesday!

Don't You Ever Grow Up...

Oh Taylor Swift. You so get me! First love, heartache, mean girls, and now first born??

To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have, honey
If you could stay like that

Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh, darling, don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple

These lyrics have ran through my head so much these past few weeks. It seems like our little guy is growing faster than we can keep up! It is both exciting and heartbreaking at the same time. So many firsts, so many changes.

Rylan is now 8 months! He now:
-crawls everywhere...literally.
-pulls up on everything; but his favorite is Mom's leg while she is cooking
-"walks" behind one of his toys for a few feet
-says "dada," "baba," "hey," and "mama" (usually while upset or crawling after me), and apparently "hey grandaddy" (according to my parents.....)
-wears 12 month clothes (we seemed to have skipped 9 mos...)
-continues to flirt and smile at everyone
-plays peek-a-boo with Ellie using our curtains
-sleeps in his own room
-eats mostly any solids you give him- we still give him yogurt and a pureed mix during the day, but he likes to eat what we have at night...including chicken, bread, broccoli florets, cheeseburger, pasta, and the occasional ice cream. He doesn't eat much, just little tastes. He is definitely chewing now, he likes to take french fries and bite pieces off with his two front teeth. He also chows down on the Gerber finger puffs. He loves to feed himself!

He has grown so much in so little time. Where has my baby gone??

Yeah, T. Swift...you still get me.

Luke 24:6 "He is not here, but has risen..."
What hope and promise we are given! Those words never cease to fill me with joy and excitement!
We hope you have a blessed Easter.
